General Conditions
- The whole repertoire must be played by memory.
- Participants are allowed to play pieces from their preliminary repertoire in the competition.
- In 2nd Round participants are not allowed to repeat any of the pieces that they already played in 1st Round.
- The performance duration in the 1st and 2nd rounds should be approx. 25 minutes.
The allowed minimum performance duration is 20 minutes, the allowed maximum performance duration is 30 minutes.
- Regarding the repertoire of free choice: Participants are allowed to play single movements of pieces.
Repertoire Category A
1st Round
25 minutes repertoire, including one of the following works of Carl Nielsen:
- 5 klaverstykker, op. 3
- Humoreske Bagateller, op. 11
- Klavermusik for Smaa og Store, op. 53
The rest of the repertoire is of free choice.
2nd Round
- 25 minutes of free repertoire
Repertoire Category B
1st Round
25 minutes repertoire, including one of the following works of Carl Nielsen:
- 5 klaverstykker, op. 3
- Humoreske Bagateller, op. 11
- Chaconne, op. 32
- Tema med variationer, op. 40
- Tre klaverstykker, op. 59
The rest of the repertoire is of free choice.
2nd Round
- 25 minutes of free repertoire
3rd Round
The first movement of one of the following piano concertos, performed with Aarhus Symphony Orchestra:
- W.A. Mozart: Concerto No. 20 in D minor, KV 466
- W.A. Mozart: Concerto No. 23 in A major, KV 488
- L.v. Beethoven: Concerto No. 3 in C minor, op. 37
- F. Chopin: Concerto No. 1 in E minor, op. 11
- F. Chopin: Concerto No. 2 in F minor, op. 21
- R. Schumann: Concerto in A minor, op. 54
- E. Grieg: Concerto in A minor, op. 16
- P.I. Tchaikovsky: Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, op. 23

Each applicant will, after finished application, have the possibility to download the Carl Nielsen repertoire of his/her Age Category.
